Son of George Cook, of Pickworth, Lincs. From what I can find he is the only WW1 CWGC grave there.   SDGW has - COOK, George Cooper,  born Walcot Lincs, enlisted Lincoln, 13487, Private, died,  F & F, 2/1/1916.   The above does not add up. if he died in France or Flanders he would have been buried there. More likely he died of illness at home.      Hallam Hardy JOHNSON, Private, 16639, 11th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment), age 20 died 01/10/1916, son of James and Lizzie Johnson, Pickworth, Folkingham Lincs.   VII. C. 3  Adnac Military Cemetery, Miraumont. (A prize for anyone who can guess how the cemetery got its name!) The cemetery was made after the war and his grave would have been moved from somewhere in the area.   SDGW -  JOHNSON, Hardy, born Folkingham Lincs, enlisted Mansfield Notts, abode, Folkingham Lincs,  16639, Private, K in A, F & F, 1/10/16.   On 1st October 1916, the 11th SF took part in Battle of Transloy Ridge and they took Flers Trench (Battles of the Somme 1/7/1916 to 19/11/1916)   I am still working on the VC winner.
