For those people who are fond of Wisterias, a visit in May or if spring comes early perhaps April, to the ones at The George Hotel Station Road Stamford, is a must. The main one is on the wall at the rear of the hotel adjacent to the Courtyard. It is a very large and old tree and always flowers very well. The whole area becomes invaded with the wisteria's scent. This is aided by the other wisteria bushes on the walls in the hotel's Monastry Garden just beyond the small flight of steps to the right of the courtyard entrance.
Why not visit Stamford browse round its streets and alleys and send us a few lines about the favourite ones you found for inclusion in STAMFORD CORNERS.?
