In the summer of 1971 my mum and dad took my sisters and I to Cromer where we stayed in a static caravan park.  Our caravan was positioned right next to the light house on the top of some cliffs and we looked right out to sea.  Each day we would make our way down the cliff path to the beach where I would spend hours of fun in the rock pools collecting star fish and crabs and building sand walls to try and stop the tide.  The tide always came in though and knocked the wall down.  I remember we got friendly with another family from Tring who had 2 boys and they had a dingy.  Their dad used to take the older of my sisters and I out on the sea in the dingy with the 2 boys and it was great fun.  We didn't want the holiday to end and I remember it was glorious weather.  The pathway we used to walk down to the beach on each day was called 'Happy Valley' and we always look back to that week with such wonderful memories.  Mum and Dad had a transister radio we used to take to the beach and the song 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep' was always being played and I've since learned it was a huge hit that summer.  In the evenings we always walked into Cromer and had a frothy Horlicks before bedtime - ahh, happy days.
Kate:  I really enjoyed reading that Andy.  Sounds like one of those really special holidays you remember forever.  Thanks for sharing it.
