Ancestor Gateway Forum - Childhood Memories, School Memories and Contacts New Topic  |  Search Thread Topic: seaside holiday Topic Originator: Beth Post Date July 15, 2005 @ 4:06 PM  seaside holiday Beth July 15, 2005 @ 4:06 PM Reply  |  Email  |  Print  |  Top The first holiday I spent at the seaside was in Skegness.  My Mum, sister, aunt and cousin all went.  my Dad stayed at home and went to work to collect 'double pay' for the week.  I suppose this gave us the money to go.  We stayed in a b&b which left quite a lot to be desired, mainly because there was bed but not much breakfast.   It was my birthday while we were away and when I was asked what I would like for a birthday treat I said a ride on the boat.  This was arranged and I still remember going on that boat. The man in charge of the boat played the accordian and sang along to the music. Ed:  Where was your first seaside holiday?  Do you remember something special about it?
