This is a photograph of Children from Tolethorpe Square and Essex Road on VE Day

This was the day (8th May 1945) which commemorates Victory in Europe. Perhaps you have a photo of a street party or the crowds somewhere that moment in time. If so, send it in to have it on the Forum. Perhaps you have a photo of a Street Group or Street Party on a different occasion. If so, we would like to see it and if appropriate add it to the website. |

Feel sure the Southwell mentioned would be "Edward" and the Wiles "Peter" hope this helps. |

Dear Kate checking with family members it would seem that I may well have been on this VE Fancy Dress photo in the middle row? Could it be that Peter Wiles [Check shirt large hat no face showing] was not? Perhaps Christine can help to confirm? We are however unable to identify the other young girl sitting next to Pamela Wyres. |
