This is a snapshot of a Burghley Park CC XI taken in 1958. I believe it was the second team.
Pictured are: (l to r back row) Roger Browne - a Stamford solicitor., J R Shelford - a master at Stamford School, (I think this is ? Anderton or Anderson, who worked in the Treasurer's Department at the Town Hall - Kate), not known, not known, wicket keeper David Cross - popular businessman and leading freemason who owned Hawleys and other local companies.
Front Row: Bob Duckett, who became a County Umpire, Ron Callow - he was a well-known director of Williamson Cliff and popular local operatic society singer. Mr Edwards - Stamford solicitor, Tom Hart, Leonard Tebay - who worked for Stamford Borough Council.
Tom Hart lived in High Street St Martins. He and his wife Phyllis were well-known local personalities.
Phyll was for many years secretary of Stamford Amateur Operatic Society.
