They say you never forget a good teacher.  I wonder how many people in Stamford owe a little bit of their knowledge to this man. Mr Brabben was quite simply the best headmaster I ever had.  A damn good teacher, he taught me things that still last today.  I can ride a horse because of him, I can tell if a valley was formed by ice or a river because of him, I know how to zig-zag up steep hills because of him. So sad to hear of his passing.  But so happy that I was lucky enough for a couple of years to be taught by this inspirational man.   I regret not making the effort to look him up in the years since I left Stamford a moved away.
