Miss Sharpe was Headmistress. There was also Mrs Purman (Perman?) and Miss Rudkin. It was a mixed school by then. Miss Sharpe used to say "Sharpe by name and sharp by nature".  The teachers were strict but that made me feel safe. It was such a lovely school. I, too, remember the tin hut and country dancing in the gardens of Dr Holt's house. I was wondering if anyone has any photos from those days as I have none.
