Turner's Painting of a coach opposite  The Bull & Swann  Inn in Stamford (painted in 1828 from an earlier sketch executed in 1797) will be on display at Stamford Museum (by kind permission of  Usher Gallery, Lincoln) until 14th June.  The painting will be the central attraction at  an Exhibition mounted by the Museum, entitled "The Making of Georgian Stamford".  A chance to see this well-known watercolour by England's most recognised and applauded  watercolourist and in its home town setting.  A walk up to view High Street St Martins and to see the street  and buildings depicted in the painting either before or after viewing - could add to the enjoyment of the viewing  of Turner's painting.
Please check Exhibition opening  days and times before travelling.
Give yourself a lasting  STAMFORD MEMORY.
