Hi Kate
You may be interested in my memories of Stamford from 1953 to 1957 especially the house where I lived at that time
No.9 Rutland Terrace.  I lived there with my parents Gerald and Constance Hives and also my brother John.  The views from the balcony and the top floor bedroom windows were wonderful overlooking the meadows and the river Welland, also the church spires in the distance, a very poetical setting. As a family we would walk from Stamford through the meadows all the way to Tinwell farm.

I have enjoyed reading all the reviews on Stamford.  I do in particular remember the fair arriving every year and the fun of it all, it was quite an event.
