It was a mild protest song, which added to the minor sensation of some of them serving at RAF Wittering. There was some controversy over whether the RAF would let them buy themselves out. The song was written by Jonathan Kingwho saw them playing at Cambridge Corn Exchange when he was an undergraduate.
