I think it was perhaps the regimented nature I didn't like, plus, not being the least bit sporty or very academic I only had science, and had to retake A Level Physics at Peterborough Tech as it was then. I did like it there and spent the next 5yrs getting ultimately a degree-equivalent qualification  in mechanical engineering. Back to Stamford School, does anyone recall SARBOS or parties on Fri or Sat often starting at Pete S's basement in Adelaide Street? I have seen an old post from Pete from New Zealand about his father's Garage near the bridge and hope he might see this.
